At Taia, we take the confidentiality and security of your content seriously.
Whether you're uploading legal contracts, marketing materials, or product specs — your data is never used for training, never shared, and always under your control.
🔐 We Do Not Use Your Data for Training
Taia does not use any user content — including:
- Project files
- Translation Memory (TM)
- Glossaries
- AI translation results
…for model training, retraining, or third-party data enrichment.
We don’t train our own models using customer data, and any AI-powered translation is stateless and transient — tuned only within the context of the current translation job.
🤖 External AI & File Services
To ensure speed and coverage across 200+ languages and 65+ file types, Taia uses a combination of internal and third-party services for:
- AI translation (e.g. OpenAI’s GPT-4o, other LLMs)
- File format conversion (e.g. PDF, InDesign)
Where external AI APIs are used, we only use no-training endpoints, meaning:
“Your data will not be used to train or improve the model.”

All communication is encrypted in transit via SSL/TLS.
Files are stored in S3 and access-controlled.
Translation content is not encrypted at rest, but passwords and credentials are hashed and stored securely.
🗂️ Data Retention
We currently retain project files and TM data for future reuse, unless:
- You delete a project or TM explicitly
- You're on a Free/Basic plan, where we may periodically purge inactive data
🧑💼 Pro users and organizations benefit from long-term memory and guaranteed storage unless deleted.
You can request full deletion of any file, TM, or project at any time.
🔎 Access Control & Audit
- Only authorized internal staff (e.g. support engineers, linguists) can access user content for troubleshooting or QA
- All access is logged
- Project content is never shared between clients, even for similar jobs
