Choosing the Right Format

  • For best results, upload editable source files (e.g., DOCX, XLSX, PPTX) instead of PDFs or images.
  • If you have a scanned PDF, consider converting it to DOCX or using OCR before uploading.

Note: Batch upload with ZIP archives and structured formats for software/web content (like JSON, XML, or XLIFF) are not yet supported, but are on our roadmap.

Notes

  • Free plan: Most common file types except PDF
  • Basic plan: Adds PDF, CSV, Markdown, JSON, XML, and more
  • Pro plan: All supported formats, including advanced and legacy types

🚧 Known Limitations

Some file types may present challenges:

  • Scanned PDFs with handwritten or poor-quality text
  • Non-standard JSON/YAML structures
  • Files with embedded images containing text (not OCR’d yet)
  • Older Microsoft Office formats (.doc, .xls, .ppt)

We’re constantly improving compatibility.

🧠 Best Practices

  • Prefer native editable formats (e.g., DOCX > PDF)
  • Clean up unnecessary content before upload (e.g., hidden text)
  • Avoid embedding sensitive info in filenames or metadata
